Ask it to self…

Two questions that I want to ask myself right this time:
1. What is the most important problem in my work field and why I am not working on it?
2. What is there that I wanted from my childhood to do (like Einstein wanted to know about velocity of light in his childhood)
and am I doing anything for it?
3. What pattern of life I want to live next?
(I have believed that we transcend from one pattern of life to another. For e.g. I was living a village childhood life until I moved to town and higher education, these are two patterns of living. Few of the important things (happiness, creativity, intelligence) which are partially inbound and partially depends on one and around social values, remains same at both the patterns. I like to see (and so the many other) the different higher pattern level and enjoy the new things it brings. Suppose tomorrow I transcend to a pattern (or say community) where all people are environmental researcher or say pilot. I would be challenged to stay there and again after sometimes challenged to excel and then transcend to another higher pattern say environment researcher for mars or say pilot for elite mars aircrafts. Its interesting?)
4. Am I working on the above (1-3) which is important?

Timer started…

Here I started a self declared timer for self-known issue for the time.

Only after the completion I will be able to put the actual issue. Right now I am not able to think of when this timer will stop but in between I can guess and put the expected time.

wisdom and intelligence relation

There is, there is difference between between Wisdom and Intelligence. It was interesting digg to this article/essay by Paul Graham.
The general definition of the two words fetched by dictionary is:
Wisdom: 1. Accumulated knowledge or erudition or enlightenment
2. The trait of utilizing knowledge and experience with common sense and insight
3. Ability to apply knowledge or experience or understanding or common sense and insight

Intelligent: 1. Having the capacity for thought and reason especially to a high degree
2. Exercising or showing good judgment

The second definition of the wisdom and the first definition of the Intelligence word fits to the essay.
In brief (IMO), wisdom is using your disciplined knowledge at any occasion and with average success rate. Whereas, intelligence although genetic has high success rate at fairly little occasions.

I started thinking about relation between Intelligence and Creativity two years back. I fell into understanding of human mind and behavior and never came out of that to complete my main thinking. Now, totally out of the thinking business I think more and more about carrier and temporal technologies. The time rules everywhere.

Its alright to fall into and out of time. And why? Its another digg (thinking subject).

What websites you nude (open) first early morning?
I wanted to list this. I wanted to list this to remember the year and my popular list of sites. This would let me to answer the question, “dude, which websites around you have been growing?

For me:only three.
www.rediff.com – Its just been there for long time. I use it less for news and more for hiding the other sites. People don’t mind IMO to having this in your browser. Oh!! its just the adhoc rediff site.
www.livejournal.com – Been using for reading blogs of my colleagues where sometimes they hover to hedge life around them. Its good its fun.
www.netvibes.com – recntly became favourite. Here I have the hundreds of feeds boiling under five tags.

Road goes somewhere

I am an avid walker. I just disciplined my routine for evening at around seven, after office work. The place where I live does not have any park till four kilometer of radius and so I walk on the newly partially constructed road near my house. The new black tar road adds more darkness to the light less area around. There is road lights and few only passes that road. I am a lone walker to the road. The guardian of the road “four-five street dogs” have permitted me to walk, but they keep an eye on my activity.
Having Sansa Sandisk mp3 player in my pocket and ear-plugged with the phone, I hardly hear anything. I enjoy cool breeze with little tar smell, only to remind that someday I will enjoy cool breeze near sea or from some beautiful garden or park.

Alright, so far it was going great, but yesterday night someone got murdered on that road. I heard first and then got confirmed after locating the tar-black blood on the road encircled by few stones. I have another inquiry to make. The inquiry to the small shop guy, who is the lone shopkeeper there.
Friends say its not a good idea to walk alone now. Where do I go now? Where this road goes? I want to walk on the ground opposite Capitol hill in Washington. I want to walk on the juhu beach in Mumbai. I want to have a big and very big spa or farm-house where I can walk.
Where this road goes now? Which is my next walking platform?
Its alright for the time.

Book: Beautiful Code

Plucked this news from a blog about this upcoming book, “Beautiful Code“. The earnings of the book will go to the charity organization amnesty international. The contributers of the book is various renowned faces of the programming world like, Kernighan, Rob Pike, Petzold etc. There is no programming language constraints, and so will fit for all coders.There are around thirty five different contributer. Since the mean of the book is quite great, the end would definitely matter to the mean (purpose).

Firefighting without fire…

Firefighting, yeah I like this kind of thrilling job. But not exactly I mean “the fire” and “the mask man” fighting. I mean any job which ignites you, which challenges you, which requires your durability, which requires you to embrace it completely, which requires you to be on top of it, and finally requires a deep sleep or vacation at the end.

No, I don’t have that kind of role. Not even for one night of that sleep. To a little extent I feel, I will get chance to fight. The DST is going off on this coming Monday, early morning at 2 P.M. At this time, the clock will be set back to one hour. So the time supposed to be 2:00 PM. will be 1.00 PM. My update guidelines will be on lines at many places. Few lines in my DST update guidelines may confuse and customer will be sending “ERRRRR” mails. There I am. I will be filtering those cases to reply. So, this task will become URgent and IMportant. It will be good to see all updates taking place smoothly.

Ok!! not so fun for a coder though.

Numenta's Computing Platform is open for community development

It was 2005 mid year when I bought Jeff Hawkins book “On Intelligence”. I got impressed with his genuine belief in studying the human brain to end all mysteries. I read that book partially.
Here you go, the founder of palm computing believes in community software development for his project. He has founded his company named Numenta, from where you can download “Numenta Intelligent Computing(NuPIC) platform. The source code is now public. Numenta’s goal is to build s/w model of the human brain which can recognize face, object which at present human can do best.
I can write more about the NuPIC once I check out.
So, the belief of uBuntu (s/w by community for community), a Linux OS product may inspire many more products to open their box.

Please dont ask what I do? I am asking this question to myself “What I am doing? often. Not at all happy with my answer. What I gotta to do to make me happy? I guess, its time to jump to Mr. Salon’s blog where he wrote something good long back.
